The Charlottesville area got its fourth-largest snowstorm ever on 18–19 December 2009. (Or second-largest, if you use the measurements from downtown rather than the airport.) About 26 inches (66 cm) at our place, though I quit trying to measure once it got to 2 feet. Wilson Steppe managed to get the driveway plowed on the 20th thanks to tire chains on his tractor and sheer determination.
